Quad Sector HMSIW Tapered Slot Antenna Array for Millimeter-Wave Applications

In this paper, a slot antenna array based on half-mode substrate integrated waveguide (HMSIW) is presented, integrating series of linearly tapered slots for wireless broadband applications in millimeter-wave frequencies. The are etched the upper layer HMSIW, which radiates energy from open side exhibiting near broadside radiation pattern. Two identical sets back-to-back printed arrays cross-lap joined to form quad sector providing 360° coverage. proposed occupies volume 20 × 70 mm3. measured bandwidth 1.81 GHz (6.53%) Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) 3:1 26.8 28.6 GHz, while peak gain and efficiency single were 14.2 dB 71.3%, respectively, at 27.5 GHz. Furthermore, sidelobe level azimuth plane was observed be 17.75 dB. performance measured, good agreement between simulation results over frequency range 27.5–28.35 5G applications.
